Ricky Henderson will be taking over the first base duties for the Mets as Howard Johnson will take over for the fired Rick Down at hitting coach. 

Personally I think this move is alot better as Hojo might be a little better at relating to the players, having been there for longer than Ricky.  Ricky also was known for not hussling to first too much and that way he's a little less vocal in that department.

OH MAMMA THATS ALOTA BOLDS!!

The Red Sox have announced a plan to elect a President of their fans. This all seems good and friendly, but to become a cnndidate you must first pay a $15 charge to become part of the Red Sox nation, then announce your candidacy

wait a minute, to become a fan you need to pay 15 bucks???

Current temporary president is former Sock Jerry Remy.  People running include celebrities, former players, and regular fans. the winner will get benifits including Red Sox tickets, the use of a Fenway Park suite, a trip to Spring Training, and they will also deliver a first pitch at a 2008 home game, and recieve a blog provided by the team.

I'm wondering a couple of things, first why Remy as your Temp.  Then- why have all these perks for a celebrity or former player, they don't have the money for it? 

Lets just hope we don't have to pay a tax on our loyalty to being a fan, and....... I say we vote in a Red Sox Killer, preferiably a Met, perhaps MOOOOOOOKIE!
