I was a young child in the early 90s, exactly 3 weeks old, when I attended my first Met game, at Shea Stadium, in the upper deck no less.

From that point on, I was a Met fan.

Being pushed around in a stroller at age two, when the Mets were horrible, I used to sport my little Mets shirt and hat.  People always used to ask me who my favorite player was.

Not having a very expansive mind at such a young age, I could only remember one player, and he quickly became my favorite.

Rico Brogna.

I have been told that people were quite surprised by the obscure answer, as there were so many different players that I could of chose.

But I picked that one.

As I have gotten older, I have had a few players that I really liked; Rey Ordonez, Turk Wendell, Timo Perez, Todd Hundley, but none will ever be as pure to me as Rico Brogna.

Now I have my very own website named after him.

People think it's quite a strangely named blog, and for good reason too.  Many people either don't know or even remember who Rico Brogna is.

That's why I chose it.
